Having spent over 40 years hunting sambar deer in the Victorian Alps, Australia, I have developed a deep-seated passion for hunting with hounds. As a team leader, I have gained a nuanced understanding of responsible hunting practices, respect for wildlife, and the importance of humane killing, ensuring that our hunting activities are informed by these principles. I am enthusiastic about sharing my experiences, accumulated over 40 years, with newcomers who are willing to learn and experience the thrill of the hunt.
My Story
I am based in Northeast Victoria, Buffalo region, and provide guided hunting tours for Sambar deer, employing scent trailing hounds and stalking techniques. Our 2 or 3 day hunts are designed to deliver a comprehensive hunting experience. To ensure a safe and successful hunt, participants must hold a valid Shooter's Licence and Victorian Game Licence with hound Hunters test completed with GMA, and utilise a minimum calibre rifle of 270. Our inclusive package includes meals, accommodation, and transportation during the hunt. The cost for a 2 day hunt is $1,750, and $2,600 for a 3 day hunt, for one person. Ethical Hunting Focus:
o Animals are not under any suffering, stress
o Humane hunting
o Dogs do not aggressively attack the deer
o Must be higher calibre rifle
o Must only hunt with rifles
o We stick 100% to ethical hunting.
